    If your most recent passport was reported lost or stolen, you cannot renew by mail with Form DS-82 and must apply in person.

    Count from the issue date printed on your passport to today. A passport issued more than 15 years ago is not eligible for renewal by mail.

  • passportIssuedAge16OrOlder boolean required

    Passports issued to applicants under age 16 (and other limited-validity passports) generally cannot be renewed by mail. You cannot renew a passport for a child under 16.

    Your most recent passport must be mailed in with the application.
