GovSchema documentation

GovSchema publishes one open format for describing any government form or process, a public registry of conforming schemas, and the verification practices that keep them accurate. These pages are the reference for builders consuming the standard, sourced directly from the specification.

The specification governs

The format may change between releases while the standard is being founded, and some identity conventions are still under open proposal. Where this site and the normative specification differ, the specification governs.

How the documentation is organized

The Specification defines the common format every schema conforms to: the document envelope, identifiers and versioning, field types and validation, and the flow of steps.

The Schema registry, the public, versioned record of conforming schemas for concrete government processes, is its own section of the site, reachable from the top navigation. Each entry carries its authoritative source and its current verification status.

Verification documents how a published schema is confirmed against its live government source, and how a mismatch is recorded and resolved.
