It sits behind an authenticated HMPO portal with no published field-by-field specification of its screens. The GOV.UK guidance pages (the landing page, "Apply online", and "What documents you need to apply") are the most authoritative public description of what the service collects, so this document transcribes those into fields. A future minor version could add a `applicationChannel` axis if the paper channel's fields are independently reviewed. - **Identity confirmer scoped to UK residents.** `identityConfirmerPassportType`'s enum covers only `british`/`irish`. Per `confirm-identity-online-for-passport-application`, the online identity-confirmation step requires the confirmer to live in the UK and hold a current UK or Irish passport unconditionally. The online flow has no overseas-confirmer branch at all. A broader British/Irish/EU/US/Commonwealth passport list exists only for the separate paper-form countersignatory route (`countersigning-passport-applications`), which is out of scope for this document. - **Fees are intentionally not encoded**, consistent with other reference schemas (e.g. `gb/dvla/vehicle-tax`, `us/ca/dmv/drivers-license-renewal`). The actual online flow this document models is a separate page, `confirm-identity-online-for-passport-application`, linked from "Apply online". It was not cited in the original draft. Re-deriving the fields from that page's raw content directly (rather than assuming the paper page's rules carry over) found real differences: the online flow adds an **18+ age gate** and an additional exclusion (cannot work for UK Visas and Immigration on British citizenship or right-of-abode applications) that the paper page does not state; it requires the confirmer to work in, or be retired from, a recognised profession with **no** "person of good standing in their community" alternative (the paper page offers that alternative, the online page does not); and it has no overseas-confirmer branch at all: "live in the UK" is unconditional on the online page, unlike the paper page's separate in-UK/outside-UK passport rules. Field descriptions and `sourceRef`s were corrected to cite the online page instead. - **Grandparent evidence and name-change evidence were removed after re-derivation.** An earlier draft of this document included `grandparentEvidenceRequired`/`grandparentNationalityEvidence` and `nameChangeEvidence`, citing `sourceRef`s on "What documents you need to apply." Re-reading that page's full `articleBody` directly (not a summary) found no mention of grandparents, name changes, deed polls, or statutory declarations anywhere on it. The page's only escape hatch for circumstances it doesn't cover is a reference to a guidance booklet that is not one of this document's four cited sources. Those fields were removed rather than published with an inaccurate `sourceRef`; if a future review finds them genuinely required (e.g. from the guidance booklet), they should be re-added citing that source, as a new minor version. ## What is NOT yet independently verified - The exact **screen order and wording** of the live online application were not captured screen-by-screen; this document is derived from the surrounding GOV.UK guidance pages, which describe what the service needs but not its literal screen text. - The **paper-form channel** (£115.50 per the landing page) was not reviewed and is excluded from this version. - Whether a separate **place of birth** field is collected on the online form (as opposed to being read from the birth certificate) was not confirmed; it is omitted here on the assumption HMPO resolves it from the submitted certificate. ## Path to a `verified` claim (next step) To advance to `status: verified`, a reviewer applies `manual-source-review-v1` (Procedure step 2 field-by-field against the live online application specifically, step 3 flow), confirms the source is authoritative, resolves any discrepancy by shipping a **new schema version** (immutability — VERSIONING §3, practice Procedure step 5), and records the outcome here plus sets `status: verified` with a current `verification.lastVerifiedAt`/`nextReviewBy`. ## Re-verification Per the practice's **Cadence**, `nextReviewBy` is set to **2027-01-01** (6 months). Re-check the source on or before that date and on any `source.url` change.
